National Photographic Awards + Exhibition 2020

Submission are now closed

This year we celebrate our 5th year hosting the annual photography competition. With 1000’s of submissions received over the past 4 years, the journey has indeed been inspiring and humbling as you have shown us our country and our people through your unique eyes.

Following in the footsteps of organizations like PIATT before us, we started the competition to celebrate and share photography across Trinidad & Tobago, as well as to give photographers a much needed friendly but competitive platform for pushing their creative talents.

Since its inception, the competition has been limited exclusively to members of the Trinidad & Tobago Photographic Society. But we recognize that progress is not possible without change. In order to truly reflect the amazing and diverse talent of photographers and the progressive state of photography in Trinidad & Tobago,  it is necessary to remove as many barriers to entry to the competition as possible. Shortly after the Annual General Meeting last year, a decision was taken by the executive to open the competition to all residents and nationals of Trinidad & Tobago, making it a truly national undertaking. In recognition of this, we are proud to announce the TTPhotoSoc National Photographic Awards + Exhibition.

“I was very new to the world of photography (I still am) so winning 1st place in the category really gave me the validation and confidence to continue pushing myself forward.  It was especially encouraging to me as, the previous year, my photos hadn’t qualified to even exhibit, let alone place in a category!  #DareToBeDifferent”

Rules & FAQ

Creatives and Artists are often encouraged to “break the rules”. But this is one time we ask you not to do this. We know most folks would prefer to watch paint dry than to read the boring legal stuff, but please read our Official Rules and our handy Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to make sure that all your amazing photographs have a chance to make it all the way through to the finals. It really, really, really hurts us to the core to throw images out because they don’t meet the rules. Don’t let that happen to you.
